new design!!

My new blog design is up!!  Thanks Jen for doing an amazing job, I love it!!

I tried every excuse I could think of to get out of running yesterday but none worked.  Even WRF was trying to find a way out.  The weather was nice and we just couldn't back out.  I didn't download my Garmin data but I know we did the first mile just under 12.  Right around the second mile the back of my knee started to feel tight and the knee itself kind of felt soft and squishy.  I know that probably doesn't make sense but that is pretty much the only way I can think of to describe it.  So I only did 2.25 miles at a 12:35 pace.  I really need to slow down and just relax and have fun at the poker run tomorrow or I wont be able to do 5 miles.

Dennis got home as I was sitting down to ice my knee and we decided to go to a little Tex-Mex place that I love.  I told him I would buy him dinner for V-Day.  We got home, watched the Big Bang Theory and I took a long bath and read my new book on the Kindle.  Even though we don't buy each other gifts or anything, those are my favorite kind of days.

After dinner last night I ran into the grocery store next to the restaurant to feed my white chocolate peanut butter addiction, there were so many men standing in line with flowers and stuffed animals it was unreal.  I seriously lol'ed.

So tomorrow is the poker run.  It is five miles, each mile you get a card.  When you get back you show the cards to a moderator and they call people up to a table to pick a prize based on your cards.  Normally there are a few of us together that swap up cards, a huge no-no but it isn't really a big deal run.  You pay $5, it is just to raise money for snacks and sports drink for the running group.  But the prizes can be pretty amazing.

I am off work on Monday and have to take Hunt man to have the growth removed.  I need to talk to the vet but I am pretty sure I am going to ask her not to have it sent off to be biopsied.  Hunter will be 13 this summer so what are we going to do if we find out it is cancer?  I almost think it is better not to know at this point.  I would do treatment on a dog but probably not one that old.  I don't want him to be miserable the last years of his life.  Guess we will talk about it when I see her.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

  1. Super-cute new design--I love the turtle!

My old dog who died in 2009 had several growths like that one of Hunter's. I had one biopsied, and they were benign, and my vet said they are pretty common on older dogs. After that, I only had them removed when she would start scratching them or they would get irritated for some reason.

Glad you had a nice V Day, and good luck with the poker run.

  5. Love the new design!
I agree, at a certain point, it is best to not try to treat a dog that only has a few years left anyway. Our job is to make their last years as good as we can for them.
