My weight is back down to 112.8, which is kind of where I like it. Not sure what it is about 114 that makes me nervous; too close to 115 maybe? The incessant hunger I felt last week is gone and I am back to feeling my "normal" restriction.
The holiday weekend was pretty anticlimactic for me. Big plans but they all kind of fell through for one reason or the other. Well mostly one reason but I will get to that in a minute.
I really need to find my exercise mojo again. I haven't workout once since I have started working a gajillion overtime hours. Even though my weight is in check, I still feel soft and ick. My plan was to start running again this week but it just didn't work out that way.
Which brings me to the reason my weekend was a wash. I have had something wrong with my ear for over a week now. I went to the walk in clinic last week and they told me it was just drainage from allergies, gave me a shot to clear up the drainage and sent me on my way. Well the shot did work on my allergies but my ear ache never really went away. By Sunday afternoon I had enough and decided I was going to google home remedies and try anything that sounded plausable. Long story short, whatever I did finally irritated my ear enough that the eardrumb ruputred. Dennis looked up and me and ever so calmly suggested that I go to urgent care before they closed. I actually had blood draining from my ear!! My equalibrium is all jacked up so I will not be running for a few days. I also can't hear shit out of my left ear and it is driving me nuts.
It is 106 outside again so even if my ear wasn't jacked I wouldn't have ran, but I can't do the pool either cause I can't get my ear wet. So I have an excuse for that.
Supposedly it is supposed to cool down later this week. I get paid Thurday and get some extra money from all this OT. I am going to buy a new pair of running shoes since my old ones are giving me blisters. I am going to take them in and let them look at the wear pattern and see if they suggest a new type of shoe. I have ran probably 150-200 miles in them so there should be enough of a wear pattern for them to figure it out. I hate that I have to get new shoes, I should have at least 300 more miles on the ones I have. Maybe I can go by at lunch on Thursday so I can run after work. I am going to meet my running buddy from work Saturday morning to run before we start our OT hours. Is is sad that I am so excited over new shoes?

It had cooled off here (it has rained all weekend) and the BAM...back up in the 90's with suffocating humidity today. I am not ready for socks and shoes, but I am oh so ready for this humidity to be gone.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your ear! Sending you healthy ear vibes :)
106! That just aint right.... sorry about the bloody ear...I had no idea shoe salesmen could look at wear pattern and suggest new shoes.... but it makes a lot of sense.
ReplyDeleteGaaaaah, that sounds so, so painful! I hope you feel better ASAP and that it cools down. That heat is no joke.
ReplyDeleteDo you have a Road Runner out there? That chain offers a VIP program for like, $20 a year I think? and one of the benefits is that you can bring back your shoes to exchange within 90 days. And I've done it! No box, no insoles (cause I have custom) and they've exchanged for me (turned out I needed a bigger size, etc.) It's a good deal if you can get it!
No it's nor sad you're excited about new running shoes...it's awesome! I love me some new running shoes too. Sorry about your ear, I ruptured both of mine 12 yrs ago because of untreated infections. Painful!
