Ten Things Thursday!!!

Apparently I offended some people with one of my ten things.  Wow, didn't mean to hurt any ones feelings.  It was totally meant as a sarcastic remark but I guess sarcasm doesn't translate well.

1.  The most important thing, I am wearing a really cute dress and an even cuter pair of shoes I bought at ReStyled two weeks ago.  I seriously can't walk through the office without getting a comment on them.
2.  The last two days at work have been twilight zone strange.  We have a crazy lady that works for us that files complaint on everyone that looks at her wrong.  She filed on the wrong person and there ended up being an altercation in the office yesterday.  I probably can't go into too many details but I heard a lot of what happened and spent a lot of time writing up statements and in interviews.  Crazy lady claims there was a physical altercation that also took place, which I highly doubt because I would have heard it.  A police report was filed, a visit to the emergency room....it was nuts.

3.  After the drama yesterday I met HMF for dinner.  I haven't seen her in probably 2 months.  We had a really good time.  I had a peach margarita that was needed really badly.

4.  The stress from yesterday is also messing with my band.  We went out to eat for lunch yesterday.  I got a cup of soup and you couldn't tell I had touched it.  Then last night I got a kids chicken strip meal and ate one chicken strip and thought I was going to get sick on that.  I have to really watch my blood sugar today because the day after a light eating day is usually when I have low blood sugar issues.

5.  After my shopping spree two weeks ago at the ReStyled event I put myself on a self imposed shopping hiatus.  I asked my work friend if make-up would be considered "shopping" she said yes.  I highly disagree. I am replacing make-up I use/run out of then it is like soap, or deodorant.  Today they got on to me for getting some Mary Kay concealer from a co-worker.  Seriously, they are like shopping Nazi's.

6.  One thing that I am going to buy under the radar of the shopping police is a new running bra!!  My girls have gotten a lot smaller since my training last year.  I have bras that are probably only worn once that are way too big for me.  I will have to go try some on and get one that fits before I start running the high mileage.

7.  Which IPhone/internet radio service do you like best?  Pandora? Slacker? Spotify?  I am tired of the first two and the last one I just can't seem to figure out how to find the songs I really like on it.  I am trying to find something that will help me build a running playlist but I'm just not feeling it.

8.  The closer it gets to the BOOBS meet-up the more I want to go.  I had originally planned on going but something about the whole secrecy of it just rubbed me wrong.  Sorry if that offends anyone.  I can get cheaper hotel rates through work but no one would tell me what hotel they were staying at until I signed on the dotted line it seemed like.  Oh well, maybe I will go next year and just stay at a hotel downtown and meet up with everyone at the super secret hotel meeting place, if I can find it that is.

9.  HMF and I talked a lot about next years Austin 1020 last night.  We are already excited about it.  I am going to look up the hotel we stayed at last year and see if we can get reservations again.  It was the perfect location.  How sad is it that I am already counting down the days until April 14th.  I feel like a little kid counting down the days until Christmas.

10.  I think I am going to get to work from home Saturday!!  It will be so nice to have 2 whole days away from this hell hole!!

  1. Yes, you have to be initiated, donate a vial of blood & send a hair sample for our secretive rituals before we will tell you where we are staying. Not giving out the hotel or specific details of where we'll be at certain times is very simply for the protection of the women participating. It's a public blog. Anyone past the 5th grade understands that you don't put private information/locations/times into the WWW or via e-mail when no one knows them or is a blog friend with them to vouch for them. Sorry, but as the owner of the blog, I'll choose safety over being cuddly warm and open on the WWW any day of the week. Sorry it seems secretive and that it's off putting to you, because you're really missing out on a wonderful time with some really lovely, supportive ladies.

    1. Wow, I struck a nerve!! I am in fact, not a 5th grader, I have a master's degree and a real life job. I do not appreciate you implying that I am in idiot. I do understand security concerns but sometimes there is a fine line between security and paranoia. I do not want to start a fight of any kind, my comment was meant mainly in jest.

  2. No offense taken, but as a planner for BOOBS, we have no problem with telling people the hotel we are staying once we know they are planning on coming. We don't required anyone to sign on the dotted line and if anything we encourage people who want to stay elsewhere if you want a cheaper price.

It's not secretive, it's just being sensible and cautious in a world where there are a bunch of crazies and stalkers and if we don't know you from Adam, yes, there is a hesitation about letting people know where we are staying. I just read back the emails we sent you back at the beginning of the year and in the emails sent to you, we provided the rate of the hotel we chose and let you have the option of staying there or booking elsewhere and we put you down on the tentative list but we didn't hear back. We try our best to accommodate everyone, but at the same time , we use common sense and respect privacy issues.
