I rejoined my gym and rode the stationary bike for 7.5 butt numbing miles. The knee pain was minimal, kind of went numb towards the end. I am not having any more of the episodes where my knee feels like it is going out, but it is still sore. I hope insurance approves the other injections, I have heard good things about it.
No workout tonight, I am going straight to my hair godess to get my hair did after work, may even sneak out a little early so I can run a few errands on the way. It has rained pretty much non-stop for the last three days and I am trying to minimize my trips. I saw a horrible wreck on the way back from the gym yesterday.
I am not sure if I put it in my blog or not but I have decided not to run the Dallas RNR half this weekend. My friend that I was supposed to hang out with made other plans when I told her I hurt my knee (which I totally understand) so I would have been down there on my own. Normally that wouldn't bother me but with having the knee issue I am not sure what I would have done if I had a serious issue and had to be pulled. It is all good. It did break my heart a little to cancel my hotel reservation and make it official, but I am looking forward to the Austin 1020 April 15 and the OKC half two weeks later. I probably need to bike and keep my legs and lungs in shape until then and back off the running. I already know I am going to be really slow so it makes no sense in pushing it. The good thing is I go back to the ortho the day after OKC and see about the Synvisc injections. I have one more half scheduled after that, May 19 in Joplin, then I hope to focus on getting more comfortable on my road bike. I don't like riding next to people and I know I need to get over that if I ever want to, you know, ride with friends!! A bike rack for Kermit is supposed to be in the works.
I haven't weighed in 2 days!! That is some kind of record for me. But, my weight doesn't seem to be going anywhere. Stuck at 127.8 I would love to get down to 118, which the doctor said is doable but I am on my own unless I just really need a fill, and I am going to have to show him I really need it. Seeing as how I have never had an overfill I really wish he would just fill me up until I can get down to goal, especially with the knee injury. I know I am being a brat. Heck this time last year I would have never guess I would be able to wear a 2/4. My sister told me last weekend that I am becoming that annoying thin person who always complains about how fat I am. I just really wish I could see that I am not fat anymore!!

Sorry about having to cancel your plans for the run, it's important to make sure you're on the mend though!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy seeing your stylist. I love haircut nights!
At least by canceling this race you have a better chance of making the others :o)
ReplyDeleteGo get your hair did! And heal up completely before doing another race (that's something I'm struggling with 3 weeks post-band!)
