1. Way to go OKC Thunder!!!
2. Tulsa Tough is this weekend. I am so excited!!!! It is a 3 day criterium bicycle race through different sections of downtown. Professional cyclist with their professional cyclist legs, yummy!! I am working at the prize distribution tent so I will get to see a lot of the winners. I am not volunteering tomorrow so I can go and watch/enjoy the races. This is by far my favorite weekend of the summer.
3. Tomorrow is our company picnic. I plan on bugging out early so I can head downtown for TT. Hopefully I can get my truck from Dennis so I can drive that instead of Kermit. It is hard to sneak out of an outside function early when you drive a lime green suv. Love my car but it does have its drawbacks.
4. I got the last of the three injections in my knee yesterday. Hurt like hell this time. I almost blacked out at the counter to check out. I went to my car and laid down for a good 15 minutes before I was able to drive. I was on my way back from working out of town and didn’t have time to stop and eat before my appointment, not sure if that was what the problem was or not. I stopped at Pei Wei on the way to work and got a kids meal. Man I forget how much I love that place.
5. Weighed in at 119 on the dot this morning. I go see my doctor Wednesday and my one year bandiversary is the 30th of this month. The fee I paid covered a year of fills, after that it is $150!! I hope I can talk him into giving me just a tiny bit of a fill but I don’t think he will.
6. REALLY, $150 for a fill!! It literally takes 2 minutes. Why in the fuck do they cost so much?
7. I ran with the girl I met at the Joplin half marathon last week. She is awesome. We didn’t break any speed records but I wanted to test out the knee. It did fine while I was running but it hurt the day after. While on the run we planned out about 5 half marathons that we want to do before the first of the year. First off, St. Louis in early October!!
8. It may take 2 months before I feel any relief in my knee, if I feel any at all.
9. My mom got the results from her PET scan back. The cancer is isolated to her colon so they are 99.9% sure they will get it all by removing that portion of her colon without any further treatments.
10. I am pretty sure high maintenance friend is mad at me. She sent me a text while I was on my way out of town and asked me if I “still” planned on going to see Jersey Boys with her Sunday. She had never asked me to go and if she had I would have said no because, even though I am a theater geek, I have no interest in that show. I told her to ask another friend of ours because I am going to be busy with TT all weekend. Seriously I am going to be sitting out in the sun Friday for the picnic, then whatever I spend at the race, over 10 hours on Saturday and at least 8 hours on Sunday. The last thing I want to do is rush around to get ready for a dark theater. I will want to take a bath in Aveeno (because try as I might, I will probably get a little pink given my complexion) and go to sleep.

I have to pay $150 per a fill too. My insurance sucks and only covers the 90 days after my surgery.
ReplyDeleteI'm just coming out of my 90-day post-op phase, too, so lord help me, I'm not sure if my next fill is $150 or $200. EEK!! I'm an old RN - some days I wonder if I can just ask for the damn needle and do it myself!
ReplyDeleteGood news on your mom - hope they get it all and she has a quick and full recovery!!
Enjoy TT! Sounds like a blast!
Mine is 125 ~ WTF! it does take 2 seconds!!
ReplyDeleteI was told that my clinic charges insurance $400 for a fill. Isn't the NUTS? I think my insurance covers it forever- I hope....
ReplyDeleteI worry about your knees. I was getting those shots too but have stopped since losing weight. I feel some pain when I walk a lot so I can't imagine how you deal with the pain and all the running you are doing. You are one determined women!
