Monday

I had a nice, quiet weekend.  I enjoyed the heck out of it.

There is a place that a few of my friends have been to called Chinese Foot Massage.  The overall experience was a little strange but well worth $30 for the hour massage.  I probably should have waited to go since my back was still sore from falling on my ass Thursday, but it was OK.

I did call one of my friends that did my "wedding" pictures and asked her if she would do pictures.  She said that she would do them for free if she could use the images on her website.  Dennis is off work so I am going to do the pictures with him instead of just me, I think I would feel less awkward that way.  Since Saturday is my one year bandiversary I think that is a great way to celebrate!!

I have so much to do at work but I am so burned out I can't concentrate.  I am taking off the two days after the 4th for a staycation.  I think I need it more then I originally thought.

In you opinion....

My one year bandiversary is a week from tomorrow.  Last May we had family pictures taken so I have professional pictures of me when I was a big girl.  Now that I am below my goal weight I kind of want to have pictures done again.  Dennis is not up for it since we just did them last year and lets face it, they are not cheap.  Would it be odd if I had a professional take pictures of just me?  I mean, lets face it, I am far from senior picture age.  There have been a few times when I saw a groupon that I almost got but chickened out.  I guess it kind of makes me feel vain.  What do you think?

I went to the chiropractor yesterday so he could fix my back after my big spill in the kitchen floor.  He told me to take an ice bath because the muscles in my back were spasming pretty bad.  I took one of my dogs pain pills (the same stuff I got after my band surgery) and a muscle relaxer last night and Dennis said I still moaned and groaned any time I turned over in my sleep.  I am going to go back to the chiropractor today so hopefully I will be much better tomorrow and ready to aquajog on Monday.

Nothing on tap this weekend except going to see my mom.  I am so looking forward to the peace and quiet.

Have a good weekend!

TTT, come on Friday

1.  I did Boot Camp H2O last night with my high maintenance friend.  It was so much fun, and a lot harder than I thought it would be!!  I will be going back next week.  I was going to try out another water class called H2Ordeal but.....

2.  I fell flat on my ass at lunch.  I hate flies, like seriously they make me sick so I have a can of fly spray on the trash at all times.  When I went home for lunch, I sprayed a fly, turned to shut the lid on the trash and slipped from the spay on the tile floor.  My tailbone is really sore and I imagine it will feel like I was in a car wreck tomorrow.  I laid in the floor for a little while trying to figure out how I was going to get up without slipping again.  Even though I am in pain, I am so glad no one was there to witness that.  I knew I had to get up, I didn't want someone from work coming by to check on me and finding me like that, lol

3.  Back to the water classes.  I bought a groupon for a 2 month membership at the YWCA.  The pool is pretty nice but the equipment is bare bones.  I already belong to another gym that is owned by an orthopedic hospital who runs physical therapy there.  It is pretty much state of the art; but no pool.  Looks like I will have to belong to two gyms, especially since my knee has been jacked up.

4.  My mom is out of the hospital.  They removed 10 inches of her colon.  They also removed 15 lymph nodes and one had cancer in it.  Not sure what that means, but she will have to see an oncologist to see if she needs further treatment.

5.  My older sister is a complete bitch.  She never showed up at the hospital the day of surgery.  She called me about 20 minutes after we got news that mom was in recovery.  My sister let me know just how busy her day had been and said she would just have to come to see her the next day on their way to the lake house.  I think she stayed 20 minutes.  Here me and my little sister had been staying hours upon hours, I even stayed the night a few time.  My older sister called my mom's cell and talked to my sister Monday.  She wanted to know what the plan was on mom getting out of the hospital so she could see if they could make it back to see her before they went back to the lake.  I so want to kick her ass.

6.  I have to figure out this maintenance thing.  My current BMI is 20.5, underweight is 18.5.  How crazy is that.  My band doctor told me that I have to figure out how to stop losing.  It was really hard not to laugh when he said that.  When you have been on a diet your entire adult life, this is not as easy as it sounds.  Maybe I need to have a little fluid removed?

7.  I was supposed to do the Color Run Saturday but I transfered my entry.  I am just way to tired to have to deal with traffic, crowds, parking, random people throwing shit at me.  I am in a "hey you kids, get off my lawn" kinda funk and I just don't think I would enjoy it right now.  I will try again next year.

8.  I am so freaking tired.  I am really looking forward to doing whatever I want to do Saturday.  I need to get a pedicure but who knows.  I would love to sleep until 9 but I doubt if my lovely little baby dogs will allow that.

9.  Only one more full week before the 4th of July.  I really hate the 4th, it is my least favorite holiday; fireworks scare the crap out of me and my dogs.  The good thing is, I took off the Thursday and Friday after the 4th so I am counting down the days!!  Dennis took off with me but I seriously doubt if we do anything.

10.  Come on Thunder!!  You been letting me down lately.  It's do or die tonight guys.

New low 116 - Maintenance...how to?

First off I have been absent for awhile.  Did I miss anything good?

My mom had surgery to remove 10 inches of her colon that contained a tumor that tested positive for cancer.  The surgery was Thursday and she just got out of the hospital yesterday.  She had a lot of problems keeping food down and getting things to work properly after the plumbing change.  I spent the majority of most days at the hospital, along with my dad and little sister.  My older sister is a complete bitch and came up one time on her way to their lake house for maybe 20 minutes.  She called Monday  and said that she would "try" to get back up to the hospital to see her before they went back to the lake this weekend.  Seriously, who does that to their mother?  I never called or sent her a text to let her know mom was released.  Screw her.

Anyway, they removed 15 lymph nodes and the cancer had spread to one of them.  Not really sure what that means for future treatment (chemo) until the oncologist sees her.  In my mind, the fact that the oncologist didn't come to the hospital to see her is a good sign.  Trying really hard not to let it worry me.

My weight continues to go down.  This morning I am at 116, I seriously snuck up on the scale from several angles to verify.  I went to my band doctor the day before my Mom's surgery.  He told me it was time to stop trying to lose weight.  I really don't feel like I am trying to lose, I just am.  He jokingly asked me if I was trying to be anorexic.  I have changed my goal weight from 125, to 120, to 118 to now 115.  He said no more.  115 IS my goal weight.

So here in lies the problem.  I have been trying to lose weight pretty much my entire adult life.  I have no clue how to just click that switch in my brain to go into maintenance mode.  I still don't see the size 2 that I am.  My sister told me we should go out and she would point out someone that is the same size as me so I could maybe put it in perspective.  But still, now what?  I know a lot of my eating problems the last week have come from stress causing my band to tighten up...but maybe not.  This is by far the hardest part.  I am not sure if maybe I should talk to a nutritionist, have my band loosened, a shrink, all of the above?  I really wish someone would just be able to give me the answer and make it click in my head.

On an interesting note, my mom doesn't know that I had WLS.  While one of the nurses was changing the bandages on her incision, we got to talking about removing fat after weight loss.  The nurse (or maybe tech) said that they were a general surgery floor and that they had a lot of bariatric patients that come through and that ALL of them gain their weight back.  I told her that her that the doctor they use must really suck because I know of 3 people from work (not including me of course) that had the surgery and they are still a size 10.  People like that are why I don't tell people about my surgery.  That was just a rude, judgemental statement.

On a lighter note, I bought an iPad last night.  Of course I haven't been sleeping well so when I got home last night I took my prescription sleep medication and  nice long hot bubble bath.  I tried to watch the Thunder game but couldn't keep my eyes open.  Apparently I had no problems getting on Amazon on my Kindle Fire though because I had a message from Pay Pal this morning that my charge was approved.  It really isn't THAT big of deal.  I have wanted one for a long time.  But the account I used to buy it is my Disney Princess Half savings money.  I also think it is a 1st generation because it was only $280 for a 32GB.  They really need to have a safety lock on these things to prevent you from doing this stuff.  At least I didn't sleep eat, lol.

OH, and Wednesday workout is my first ever Aquatics Boot Camp with HMF!!  I hope it lives up to the expectations I have for it.  So excited!!

sleep eating

My weight this morning was 122.  Not at all happy about this number.  I could blame it on the fact that I was outside almost the entire weekend watching bike races in the 90+ degree heat but the truth is, I didn't make the best food choices.

Friday
I ate a kiddie burger from Sonic for breakfast.  I took half the bun off but still....I also drank a large root beer
I had little bit of bbq at the work picnic for lunch but it was gross.  I also ate 2 cookies and a small cupcake
Dinner was at a Mexican place right off the race course.  Awesome food so I ate more then I would have liked.  I had chilaquiles and a margarita.  of course there were chips and salsa

Saturday
I ate a half a twix bar for breakfast
lunch was a chicken enchillada and chips and salsa
I stopped at Sonic and got a large root beer on my way to the race
dinner was a kids meal from a local diner, 2 chicken strips and french fries and a margarita

Sunday
I don't think I ate breakfast at all, I was still full from the night before
lunch was at Genghis Grill - no rice and I didn't eat even half my bowl.
the race was over at 5:45 so I had a frozen chicken casserole for dinner

But, I did have fun at the bike races.  I had a falling out with the volunteer leads boyfriend so I told them to eff off I was going to enjoy myself, so I was actually able to watch for the most part, uninterupted.  I got to see my favorite rider, Kayle Leo Grande; or as I like to call him, my future ex-husband.  He even won Friday nights race!!

I have noticed over the last few weeks that I kind of sleep eat.  I ate turkey and cheese one night and don't really remember it but I left the evidence out over night.
I got a cookie at the hotel last week and thought I would save it and eat half of it.  When I went to get it the next day the entire huge cookie was gone.
Last night I would have been fine not eating at all but I nuked the food.  I don't even remember finishing the food or what it tasted like.  I know Dennis came and got the plate out of my hand and I had night coughs.

I take medication to sleep because I have really bad insomnia.  I am go see my band doctor on Wednesday, I am going to see what he thinks about this.

TTT

1. Way to go OKC Thunder!!!

2. Tulsa Tough is this weekend. I am so excited!!!! It is a 3 day criterium bicycle race through different sections of downtown. Professional cyclist with their professional cyclist legs, yummy!! I am working at the prize distribution tent so I will get to see a lot of the winners. I am not volunteering tomorrow so I can go and watch/enjoy the races. This is by far my favorite weekend of the summer.

3. Tomorrow is our company picnic. I plan on bugging out early so I can head downtown for TT. Hopefully I can get my truck from Dennis so I can drive that instead of Kermit. It is hard to sneak out of an outside function early when you drive a lime green suv. Love my car but it does have its drawbacks.

4. I got the last of the three injections in my knee yesterday. Hurt like hell this time. I almost blacked out at the counter to check out. I went to my car and laid down for a good 15 minutes before I was able to drive. I was on my way back from working out of town and didn’t have time to stop and eat before my appointment, not sure if that was what the problem was or not. I stopped at Pei Wei on the way to work and got a kids meal. Man I forget how much I love that place.

5. Weighed in at 119 on the dot this morning. I go see my doctor Wednesday and my one year bandiversary is the 30th of this month. The fee I paid covered a year of fills, after that it is $150!! I hope I can talk him into giving me just a tiny bit of a fill but I don’t think he will.

6. REALLY, $150 for a fill!! It literally takes 2 minutes. Why in the fuck do they cost so much?

7. I ran with the girl I met at the Joplin half marathon last week. She is awesome. We didn’t break any speed records but I wanted to test out the knee. It did fine while I was running but it hurt the day after. While on the run we planned out about 5 half marathons that we want to do before the first of the year. First off, St. Louis in early October!!

8. It may take 2 months before I feel any relief in my knee, if I feel any at all.

9. My mom got the results from her PET scan back. The cancer is isolated to her colon so they are 99.9% sure they will get it all by removing that portion of her colon without any further treatments.

10. I am pretty sure high maintenance friend is mad at me. She sent me a text while I was on my way out of town and asked me if I “still” planned on going to see Jersey Boys with her Sunday. She had never asked me to go and if she had I would have said no because, even though I am a theater geek, I have no interest in that show. I told her to ask another friend of ours because I am going to be busy with TT all weekend. Seriously I am going to be sitting out in the sun Friday for the picnic, then whatever I spend at the race, over 10 hours on Saturday and at least 8 hours on Sunday. The last thing I want to do is rush around to get ready for a dark theater. I will want to take a bath in Aveeno (because try as I might, I will probably get a little pink given my complexion) and go to sleep.

WTF??

I just took a break from my insanely busy day to check in and blogger says I am not following any blogs?!?!?!   What the hell happened to my blog list?
