First off, I hope all the east coast bloggers are doing well and staying warm and dry.
So I am thinking that maybe I need to get a small unfill. I have been at goal for several months and was told by my doctor that if my weight gets below 110 he would make me have an unfill. Well my weight is steady at 112.2. I like being this weight. I like my size and am starting to feel comfortable in it; although sometimes when I ask for a size 2 or zero I feel like the sales clerk is looking around to see who I am buying for.
Here is my problem. I am still having some issues with my eating. I am not throwing up, I have learned the art of eating slowly and taking small bites, but there are days when I am just not hungry and have no interest in food.
- I order a cup of soup when I go out for lunch and can't finish it.
- I can't eat spicy food at all because it will cause really bad pain.
- The last two nights I have realized I hadn't eaten anything for dinner so I eat a cracker with cheese too late and have night coughs.
-I will have "hungry" days where I can almost eat like a normal person, like last week at the Olive Garden I ate some salad, a half a breadstick and maybe a little over a 1/4 of my pasta. The next day, the day of the run, I ate half a half order of nachos and more of the cheese fries then I thought I would be able to. Since then the thought of food makes me gag.
So I am not sure what to do. I know I am not getting enough calories but I am scared to death to gain weight back. Yes, I am crazy.
What should I do?

Do you think you might be down with a bit of stomach bug or something? This list sounds like sometimes you just aren't hungry - if you can eat that much at Olive Garden it sounds like your band is at a good fill level (and your weight too). Maybe work on scheduling your food and eating what you know you should/need to and see how you go from there?
ReplyDeleteI don't think my band ever had my at a place that I was uninterested in food like that. It does seem like you CAN eat- I agree with Chelle, try scheduling some light meals and see if that helps.
ReplyDeleteIf you CAN eat... and just aren't because of lack of hunger... then I agree that maybe scheduling your meals and eating a set amount might help? your list scares me (personally) and I don't think you are getting enough nutrients in. Not eating at night because you forget... sounds dangerous. String enough of those days together and you might start having issues. Night coughs. Not good. Ever. Be vigilant with that. Better to back the teensiest amount out than running into issues because you were too tight too long.
ReplyDeleteYOU know how YOU feel. Only you can really decide what is right.
I'm with the others, it doesn't sound like you are in the green zone if you are that uninterested in food. Maybe the tiniest unfils (0.1-0.2) would make enough of a difference to eat and be interested in food again but without leaving you feeling unsatisfied. You could always get several tiny unfills (insurance permitting of course)
ReplyDeletehonestly, that looks like a red flag list if I ever saw one. Night coughs and reflux...not good. Cheese fries and nachos will only aggravate these issues. How's the protein intake? Only you know what your goal is....is it a number or a feeling? Do you want to be healthy or be a size zero? Obesity can kill...but so can malnutrition and associated health problems. I don't want to offend you, but I have to be real here. I have never heard of a bandster that was threatened with an unfill for having too low of a weight. That sounds very scary and borderline eating disorder-ish. While I don't know any of your specifics, I'm thinking that maybe a consult with a nutritionist would be beneficial.
