amazing story!!

http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/46099350/
This is my doctor's brother!!  He told me about it yesterday when I went in.  Luckily everyone is okay and out of the hospital.  Dr. Atkins said that when you aske the 4 year old what happened he makes a big splash sound.  Talk about lucky!!

Now on to me, lol.  Lost 7.4 pounds this month so he said nope, no fill for you.  I don't go back until March.  We discussed tummy tuck/lipo options.  I showed him pictures and he suggested a full tummy tuck, but after looking at my stomach he changed his mind and said we could "counture" my belly and hips with some lipo, 4-6 pounds is what he thinks it will get rid of.  They haven't sent me the cost sheets, they say they are going to discount it.  I will let you know when I find out.  I still haven't made up my mind that it is something I really want to do.  Has anyone else gone through this?  How painful is it?

Dr. Atkins asked me if I would come in and speak to people at the seminars.  I told him of course I would.  It makes me feel good that he sees that kind of progress in me.

Then my emotional rollar coaster started.  After I got home I downloaded my data from my garmin forerunner. I was wearing uggs and I guess the static had built up because when I went to take it off the computer it shocked me. I tried to turn it on and it wouldn't work. I went into full on panic mode. After about an hour of freaking out and looking on the internet for a fix, I finally called garmin and they had it fixed in 10 seconds. I was all set to go to Best Buy and buy a new one last night. I have a 3 miler scheduled today, not sure I even can run without my garmin.

quicky

I am going to the band doctor at 10 and have done nothing but brush my teeth so I only have a few minutes.  I am at 136.6, 16 pounds from goal.  I am torn between dressing in light clothes so my real weight shows and they can see how hard I have worked, or to wear a heavy sweater so I will weigh more and can get a fill.  It is so hard for me to intentionally weigh heavy though.

I got my 9 mile run in on Saturday.  It was rough because it was so freaking cold!!!  Like ice freezing in water bottles, sweatcycle cold.  My training buddy just did 7 since she isn't doing her half until April.  I was very tempted to just call it a day, but I went back out and did it.

Huge NSV Friday!!  a bunch of us went to lunch in my bosses new car.  When trying to figure out who had to set where they told me I had to get in the third row seat because I was the skinniest, squee!!!

OK, that is about all I have time for.  I gotta get a move on and get my butt out the door.

Hope ya'll have a good week.

The morning after

Last night we had dinner with the my family.  This is a big deal because my younger and older sister haven't spoken in like 5 years over a stupid fight.  The fight didn't even include my sisters, it was a fight at a party where my younger sister's husband was drunk (and believe me, he an obnoxious drunk) and someone else at the party punched him in the face.  I am so sure he deserved it.  The grudge is over the fact that the guy that punched him works for my older sister's BIL and they didn't fire him.  Childish crap.

At any rate the dinner was fine, not really that awkward.  My younger sister was unusually quiet but the restaurant was loud so it wasn't noticed that much.  I thought my mom was going to have a heart attack she was so thrilled we were all in the same room again.

While I am on the topic of my mother, I honestly think she is the reason I had lap band surgery.  I watch her and I see what my future would have been.  She literally ate at least half of a bowl of spinach artichoke dip and chips.  I figure it was at least 2,500 calories before she even got her dinner; which was fried catfish, and she ate most of that.  She has lost a lot of weight since my dad retired and can watch over her some, but she is still obese and happy with that.  She is also on medication for her blood sugar but since her blood sugars are normal with the medication, she eats whatever she wants.  She is killing herself with food.  That will not be me.

Still no exercise.  I still have a little wheezy thing going on.  I used my inhaler yesterday at work and I thought I was going to climb the freaking walls!!  I hate how they make me feel and I only did two puffs instead of the four I am supposed to do!!  Maybe it will help me run faster?!?!  I am looking forward to being able to run on Saturday.

Since I can't exercise I don't have a lot to talk about...not sure if I will be doing the Dallas RNR half.  My friend that lives North of Dallas that I was going to hang with is kind of blowing me off.  It is an expensive race and I don't want to be left hanging.  I can always do the Joplin Memorial Half in May, that will qualify me for half fanatics.  The only problem with Joplin is, it is an out and back and I hate those.  I am so slow I get to see just how far in the back I am.  Heck I may do it anyway even if I do the Dallas RNR since it is for such a good cause (tornado relief).  Then again, my friend Sandra; the one who is going to Austin with me, would do the Dallas run with me.  Heck, I don't know what I am going to do.  At this point I am looking at all of these and seeing dollar signs.  This running habit is expensive.

picture update

I took a few picture while I was out of town.  I have come a long way but I still have a ways to go.  I wonder if I am sure I will have to have surgery if I ever want to have a "flat" stomach.  Not sure if it is really worth it.

The side picture is of my bad side.  For some reason one side is flabbier than the other.

I ended up going to the doctor yesterday because I was having a lot of problems breathing while I ran Sunday and had a really sore throat.  The doctor never did give me an official diagnosis, but she told me that my throat looked like it was on fire.  She gave me a perscription for a Z-Pak, inhaler and singulair.  Told me to take this week off and let my lungs get better.  I am not sure what I will do with myself.

NSV at the doctor, she didn't have to push the bottom thingy to 150, the first time that has happened in awhile!!!  I hadn't seen my doctor in awhile and she said I looked great and that she knew I was making the right decision.

Then I get a text from my old trainer asking me if they could use my pictures in a brochure they send out to members.  I looked on Facebook and he is still on my friend list so I wonder just exactly which pictures he plans on using?!?!  I told him I would have to approve it first.  I knew he would want to take all of the credit.

see ya in a week

I am away on the work assignment straigt from hell.  This is going to be an interesting week.

Probably won't be able to blog, I am on a work aircard at the office because they are on a different network and I didn't bring my laptop or netbook because I kind of wanted to check out for a week.  I did however bring my Kindle Fire, I am not in the dark ages.  Not sure how blogging works on that little device though.

Just thought I would update while everyone was out of the office.  Hope ya'll have a great week.

woohoo

138.4 this morning. Can I get a hell yea?!?! Finally!!! buh bye 140's!!!

I did something I thought I would never have the guts to do yesterday.  When we had our family pictures done in May I swore if I lost a significant amount of weight I would come back and have bodoir pictures done. Well the girl that did our pictures sent me an email and told me she is running a special, so I have a session scheduled January 20!! I am so nervous!! I have no clue what I need to bring to wear, I don't want them to be trashy.

I will be out of town all next week, which means I get to run on the horrible TM. I just don't think it is safe running outside since I am traveling by myself in a military town. Maybe I can just bring stuff with me and run on the post, that should be safe I would think. I will have to find out if I need to bring a reflective vest or flasher, they have some strange rules.

things that make you say hum

I had a horrible sinus/respiratory thing going on earlier this week.  The very thought of eating made me gag, so I had very little to eat Monday and Tuesday...weight was up to 143.

I was back to work yesterday and ate a little more but still not back to my new normal...weight this morning, 140.4.

The only way I can explain it is I was full of snot.  Today is the first day I didn't wake up feeling like my head was going to explode.  I am trying to drink as much water as possible but it really is hard with the drainage monster.

We went shopping New Years Day and I bought a bunch of cute stuff that fits.  This is today's selection, it is actually a small!!  I do have a tank top on under the dress but you can't see it.

I also picked up my ring from having it sized last night.  I had have small hands anyway but they had to cut it down to a 4.5.

I haven't been exercising much because of the icky but I have signed up for 4 runs.
Little Rock half - March 4
Dallas Rock and Roll half - March 25
Austin 1020 - April 15
OKC half - April 29

Once these are over I plan on adding to my tattoo, having "the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" along the outside of my foot that has the medal tattoo.  My mom is going to shit, lol.

I am still really motivated and from the looks of it better stay that way for awhile.  I am going out of town next week and will have to do the TM thing, which I hate but I will make it through.  Saturday I have a 7 miler.  The TM freaks me out more then the 7 miles....

I am really hoping to be in the 130's this time next week!!!
